I was 7 years old and living at the time in the UK, my birthday my 8th was approaching.
I remember being asked what it was that I would like for my birthday gift wise.
I had a long hard think because I didn’t want to say something right there on the spot and then regret it later on (such an autistic response) other kids would have yelled out
“I want this cool car toy with secret weapons that turns into a robot or a dinosaur” or “I want this dolly who does everything but pay rent and clean the house”
Laughs aside. I remember going to my room and thinking.
I am not sure how long it took me but I finally had an answer.
Get ready parents to rejoice here!
I wanted a red number 8 painted onto blue cardboard.

Yep you heard me correctly.
I wanted a RED NUMBER 8 PAINTED ONTO BLUE CARDBOARD.
Imagine my parents delight at being presented with a cheap inexpensive gift which meant that they didn’t have to use the credit card.
I mean cardboard cheap ✅
Red Paint cheap (Tick) ✅
And so that’s what I got and I was over the moon!

Now I am not sure and to this day I still don’t know why I asked for that particular gift. But it made me happy, I think that it may have something to do with the fact that circles to me at that age (7) were fascinating. They are easy to draw and they sit on top of each other.
Well this is Monday’s blog post done and dusted. Owl see you again on Friday
